From 27 to 29 May 2025, Cusco was the epicentre of an international meeting to rethink the present and future of agrobiodiversity in a context of climate change and rural transformation. More than 70 people—including farmers, young people, researchers, and representatives of national and international organisations—participated in the Agrobiodiversity Knowledge Exchange Workshop, an event that reaffirmed the value of native seeds as living heritage and key to food sustainability.
Organised in collaboration with the National Institute for Agricultural Innovation (INIA), the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, the International Potato Centre (CIP) and Oxfam, the workshop promoted dialogue between generations, cultures and knowledge. The agenda focused on the need to strengthen cooperation between institutions, empower rural youth and build more inclusive public policies.
