From May 27 to 29, 2025, Cusco became a vibrant meeting ground for over 70 farmers, youth leaders, researchers, and institutional representatives who came together to reflect on the present and future of agrobiodiversity. In the context of a changing climate and evolving rural landscapes, the “Seeds of the Future” Knowledge Exchange Workshop provided a unique space for dialogue, learning, and collective action.
Co-organized by the National Institute of Agrarian Innovation (INIA), the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, the International Potato Center (CIP), and Oxfam, the event aimed to strengthen intergenerational and intercultural collaboration. Through workshops, testimonies, and policy dialogues, participants explored how native seeds, traditional knowledge, and inclusive governance can serve as powerful tools for food sovereignty and rural resilience.
This document summarizes the key themes, outcomes, and reflections from the workshop. A space where the seeds of a more just, sustainable, and biodiverse future were sown.
