Santosh Shrestha, PhD is Thematic Advisor for Participatory Plant Breeding at Oxfam Novib, based in Kathmandu, Nepal. He has over a decade of experience in agrobiodiversity conservation, climate-resilient agriculture, farmer-managed seed systems, and evidence-based seed policy advocacy.
Santosh is a master trainer in farmer field schools on participatory plant breeding (PPB) and local food plants. His work focuses on participatory crop improvement and local innovation, promoting strong collaboration between smallholder farmers and research and development institutions to ensure farmer needs and voices are at the center.
He holds a PhD in Plant Science from Aarhus University, Denmark.
